Conditions for receiving the service
- One parent must be an Israeli citizen.
- Both parents must be present.
- If the parents wish to register a child who is under 18 years of age without making additional requests, such as applying for a passport, the child’s presence is not required.

Required documents
- The passport or ID card of the parent filling in the application.
- The passport or ID card of the applicant’s spouse.
- Confirmation of birth from the obstetrics department of the hospital where the child was born.
- The child’s original, authenticated birth certificate. A notarized translation is required for birth certificates that are not in Hebrew, English, or Arabic (the translation must include the translator’s declaration before a notary).
Israeli citizens to whom a child is born abroad must register the child within 30 days of birth.
If one of the parents is not an Israeli citizen, the parents must contact the nearest Israeli mission for information before going to register their child.
In cases where the parents have not registered the child within 30 days of birth, an Israeli child born abroad may be registered until age 28 subject to the restrictions of the Civil Registry procedure.
